Bomber Command's assault on  Germany will always be controversial to some . But we should also remember that in 1939 Germany was a country that was not under attack by anyone. However they chose to send out millions of military personnel and Gestapo agents into many countries to murder, rape, plunder and starve millions of innocent people. The death toll for WW2 was over fifty -five million .

   The punishment that the German people took at the hands of Allied bombers was just part of the price that they had to pay for following Hitler and his depraved henchmen.

Summary

    The Germans also carried out  the first indiscriminate  bombing of civilian targets.
