All countries tend to focus on their own efforts in a war . That would only be natural . Some in the West do not pay much attention to the huge struggles on the Eastern  front . A few  facts might put that part of the war in perspective .

Soviet Union WW2

   Close to 80% of all German soldiers killed in  WW2 were killed on the Eastern front . The Soviet Union lost over twenty million dead during the war . If we divide that number by the number of days that the Soviets were at war in WW2 June 1941 to May 1945, we come up with the staggering  number of 20,000 people killed  per day .

The eastern front was the largest military confrontation in history.
