Moose Fulton and crew were killed in action July 29 1942

John Fulton's nickname is currently used on 419's Squadron emblem and motto.

Wing Commander  John "Moose " Fulton   D.S.O. , D.F.C. and A.F.C.

By early 1942 Fulton had more than enough missions completed to qualify him to return home . Some men like to lead from the front.  His supervisors told him repeatedly to stay home from some of the more dangerous raids.  He would smile and say "Yes Sir , of course Sir , anything  you say Sir !"

Sean was not someone who really looked up to many people . One man that he had a great respect for was  Moose Fulton , leader of 419 Squadron .

On several occasions  his crew and a replacement pilot would be just about to board an  aircraft for a dangerous mission when a car would arrive .  Out would come Moose Fulton in flying gear . He would stroll over to the replacement pilot and tell him " I am going to fly this one, you are going back to the officers' mess "
