Coastal Command vs Arrogant  Nobility

The pilot felt that he had to jettison part of his load , huge depth charges , as he approached his  base . The depth charges just happened to land exactly in the middle of the fish pond , This was, of course,  just a coincidence .

Mr. Nobleman made it quite clear that Air Force personnel were not welcome anywhere near his hunting preserve or fishponds.

Sean's favorite story about the airforce and WW2  involved Coastal Command and a pompous nobleman whose large estate  included a large private hunting preserve and a huge, well stocked fishing pond .  His estate was very close to a Coastal Command base .

At dawn one morning A large Coastal Command  bomber was returning to base with one engine out and the pilot claimed , major problems with another engine .
